What type of ship is it?
The vessel is a cargo ship that has been adapted for passenger transportation in addition to transportation of vehicles including trucks, cars, cattle, recreational vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles.
Where do the sailings depart from?
The sailings start from the Ferry Terminal located in Angelmó No. 2187 in Puerto Montt, form the Ferry Terminal in Puerto Chacabuco and from the Ferry Terminal in Puerto Natales located in Pedro Montt No. 262.
What is the navigation route?
Navigation is through the Patagonian Channels sailing fjords, channels and gulfs that pass alongside small fishing villages.
Sailing is smooth except through the Gulf of Penas (Gulf of Sorrows) which varies depending on weather conditions. The journey From Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales (or viceversa) lasts 3 nights.
What type of clothing is needed on board?
We recommend bringing sweaters and raincoats in addition to sports attire to travel. Also passengers should bring gloves, sunglasses and other necessary clothing to continue the trip to the Torres del Paine National Park and Patagonia.
How much of baggage is allowed?
Each passenger is allowed to bring two (2) suitcases. We suggest passengers bring only what is necessary and essential due to the limited space in the cabins. The ships are equipped with a container to store the bags that are not necessary during the sailing.
What types of activities are offered on board?
During the high and shoulder season, the guide in charge will provide additional information on the history, wildlife and geography of Patagonia. The guide will also identify points of interest along the route. There is a TV monitor to enjoy videos and music.
What does the rate include?
Lodging on board.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner with a fixed menu prepared on board.
Other services:
Cafeteria - where other products such as beverages and sandwiches are for sale.
On board shop - where souvenirs y basic personal items are for sale.
What are the required times to check in and board?
Passengers should check in at least four (4) hours before the scheduled boarding time. Vehicles must check in at least five (5) hours prior to the scheduled passenger boarding time.
Can anybody embark after all passengers are on board?
After the boarding of all passengers is finished, the departure is considered closed and no leftover passengers will be admitted.
Is there access to the vehicles in the cargo area during sailing?
As a safety and security precaution, access to any vehicles is prohibited during sailing.
CANCELLATIONS:
The following rules are applied when passengers are not able to travel for any reason:
Up to 15 days prior to departure, Navimag will refund 90% of the rate.
Bewteen 14 and 5 days prior to departure, Navimag will refund 70% of the rate.
Bewteen 4 days and 48 hours prior to departure, Navimag will refund 30% of the rate.
Bewteen 48 hours and departure time, Navimag will refund 10% of the rate.
Navimag will not refund any monies resulting from cancellations of reservations made after the reserved sailing. |
